CHAPTER 3

Mamoru stare in surprise at the girl in front of him, Mika. Ami was working in the same private hospital with him as a skin consultant. Earlier on, he had invited her for lunch but he had not expected for her to appear with Mika in tow.

Listening quietly to their conversation, he realized Mika and someone else call Adelaide had met the other senshis. He rubbed his forehead absently, he wanted to ask Mika something, something that concerned her and seem very important, yet for the life of him he can't seem to remember what it was.

Mika grinned to herself when she saw the perplexed look on Mamoru's face. Poor dear, he can't remember the incident at all. Which was not strange. A memory swipe spell was quite effective for a limited period.

A sudden scream interrupted their conversation. Mika turned and immediately ducked as several pointed feathers flew past her head. The other occupants of the café were fleeing in fear as a young man in medieval clothes was meticulously destroying anything in his path.

A rose flew through the air and landed at the young man's foot. He raised his head and gaze inquiringly at Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Mercury. Mika whistled, they had pretty good reflex.

"How dare you intrude on these peaceful café, stranger?" demanded Sailor Mercury as she released her Aqua Rhapsody Attack. The young man easily avoided it and flung more feathers, which hit Mercury and sent her flying across the room. Tuxedo Mask desperately blocked some with his staff but he tripped and fell down. The young man triumphantly stood in front of them.

"I am Hermes, Messenger of the Shadow King. You dared to interfere with my destruction, now prepare for your death!" A flurry of feathers surrounded Hermes as Tuxedo Mask watched in stupefied horror. Mercury was still unconscious.

"Birds of a feather flock together, but destruction does not matter if you first shatter!" A voice rang out just before Hermes released his power. He turned in surprise as a bolt of sizzling energy hit him full in the chest. For a moment, nothing happened. Then he screamed in pain as his body slowly disintegrated into pieces. Dust fell to where he once stood.

"Bloody rhyming! Ouch, my hand smarts!" their mysterious rescuer swore to herself as she rubbed her right hand. She surveyed the wreckage ruefully and shook her reddish mane. A groggy Sailor Mercury and Tuxedo Mask watched her warily. She resembled a sailor senshi and had the insignia of two moons joined together on her forehead. She noticed their scrutiny and gave a slight mocking bow.

"Please to meet you, I am Sailor Cosmo Gaia of the Star Tribe. Now if you two could please excuse me, I have to leave before the authorities arrive." With that, Sailor Cosmo Gaia shimmered and vanished before their astonished eyes.
